APN settings

Postby admin3 on Tue Feb 24, 2009 8:46 pm

iStockManager requires that your phone's APN settings be configured properly. The APN settings tell the device how to access the internet. On most carriers this information comes configured when the device is purchased, but others depend on the user entering the correct information.

If you can't login with iStockManager first make sure that you have given the application permissions to access the internet. If the app has the permissions and you get an error that mentions the APN configuration it can usually be fixed by configuring the APN setttings on the device. To do so:

1. Go to Options
2. Go to Advanced Options
3. Go to TCP
4. Enter the correct APN, Username, and Password for your carrier.

Here are some links of pages that list the settings for different carriers:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/blackberry-network/2185-blackberry-internet-msn-chat-web-telnet-tcpip-no-bes.html
http://www.pinstack.com/carrier_settings_apn_gateway.html
http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Carrier_specific_APN/TCP_settings

If your carrier is not listed contact them and ask them for the correct APN settings.

If after you set the APN settings the app still can't connect, try powering your device on and off by removing and reinserting the battery.

I am having the same problem too for the last couple of days now. I have BB Bold 9700 and I am on Rogers network. My istockmanager version is 1.4.0.1. My APN settings are mentioned as internet.com with no username or password. Any suggestions or advice please....

Try calling your carrier and asking them for the correct APN settings
